International Cricket

Sourav Ganguly appeared to put in extra effort at the nets ahead of the second Test to make the most of his farewell series.
The former India skipper took part in an elaborate practice session on the eve of the second Test against the Aussies and then returned again to sweat it out later in the day.
India trained for close to three hours after which the Australian team arrived for their practice.
After the visitors left, Ganguly accompanied by coach Gary Kirsten and speedster RP Singh arrived at the nets.
Ganguly then practised for over an hour, with RP Singh bowling from the other end.
All this while Kirsten looked on and kept observing the shots the left-hander played.
After the session, Ganguly did not take any questions from the few mediapersons who were present.
Earlier today, Chairman of selectors K Srikkanth reached here and told reporters that the Mohali track looked good despite few spells of rain over the past few days.
He said that while seamers will derive advantage from the pitch, the spinners, too, should come into action from the third day onwards.
